ERGIS GROUP INVESTS IN ANOTHER NANO-LAYER LINE
The ERGIS Group, leader in plastics processing in Central and Eastern Europe, has entered into an Agreement for the Supply and Start-up of a Process Line for the Production of Multi-Layer PE Stretch Film with NANO Layers with Windmoller & Holscher KG.The process line will be installed in Oława and its start-up is planned for the first quarter of 2014.Investment expenditure on that project is estimated at approx. PLN 18 million. The new line is the effect of co‑operation with W&H, which was established during research initiated in the course of works on the first line for the production of nanoERGIS film.
The nanoERGIS film to be produced on the additional line in Oława has unique technical properties: with thickness of about 12 microns, its stretch can reach even 250 to 300%.This produces considerable savings on the part of users, who may now consume nearly 50% less film to wrap their products as compared to traditional stretch film. This suggests that the nanoERGIS film not only represents value for money for the Company’s customers, but is also an important merit for the natural environment, since substantially less film is being introduced to the market than in the case of traditional process lines.
“The decision to purchase a new process line proves that we are consistent in continuously developing and upgrading our process lines.Having launched Europe’s most advanced line for the production of thirty-three-layer film with nano-layers, we are now taking measures aimed at installing another line which is just as innovative and advanced.Long-term cooperation with a trusted supplier guarantees that we will achieve the assumed technical results and give our customers an opportunity to use the most advanced packaging solutions”, said Tadeusz Nowicki, President of the Management Board of ERGIS‑EUROFILMS.
ERGIS Group is Poland’s largest manufacturer of PE stretch film (stretch film used for e.g. wrapping loads on pallets), as well as Central and Eastern Europe’s leading manufacturer of PVC products: soft films (insulation and special purpose) and compounds. An important segment in the Group’s operations is the manufacturing of PVC, PVC/PE and PET rigid films, used for the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, food and technical packaging, as well as for flexible food wraps. The Ergis Group is also an important manufacturer of PET tapes (used for fastening medium-heavy and heavy products and loads) and PVC thermo-shrink films (used for e.g. food packaging) as well as a distributor of BOPP film (used mainly for packaging manufacturing).
